Well, it has been many days since I have not updated this blog. The college exams are culprit.

As promised in the last post, this post will be interesting. I will be giving away premium themes again. Below is the list of themes I will be giving away.

Video Elements is a basically a premium theme designed for Vlogs. I like the cover flow like appearance that this theme gives to the pictures. App Store for iPhone has been launched as promised in Steve Jobs’ WWDC keynote and we have already seen blogging apps like TypePad blogging tool, courtesy of Six Apart. What about wordpress? When will it get it’s own native iPhone app running on a iPhone? Pretty soon. WordPress has also posted a video demonstrating its very own iPhone blogging tool, which supports WordPress.com blogs and self-hosted WordPress.org blogs which are running version 2.5.1 or later. Below is the video showing the app in action.

You can visit the official home page for WordPress iPhone Application at iphone.wordpress.net. The application will allow you to write a post, edit posts which are published already, change the privacy settings, and select the category for the post. What’s more? It will also let you upload images directly from your iphone camera or library. It’s not that you can’t blog from iPhone currently. All you have to do is point your safari browser to your blog’s admin panel, but it will not give you a good user experience and this application is hopefully going to provide a better ,more seamless experience and greater flexibility. The app will also support multiple blogs. This app is going to be released soon, so keep on checking the iPhone App Store and inform us if you get any more info.

WordPress 2.5’s admin design is very cool. It’s light weight, stylish, contains no much images therefore loads fast.What if you want to make your blog design similar to your WP’s admin panel and turn Wordpress Admin 2.5 inside out. I have found something that would do is. Well, it is a lightweight theme called Word Press’d from blog2life which is just made to give your blog a feel and flexibility of WP’s admin panel. Ofcourse this theme will not make just blog exactly look like the admin panel, but it would make your blog somewhat similar to the WP’s admin panel. The theme covers WP Admin 2.5 as close as while keeping quick load time in mind.

Features:
The theme has got eye catching Latest Post box with quick loading light template. The theme is fully compatible on Wordpress 2.5+. The comments allow a gravatar image of size 32 x 32 of the user with each comment. When I first looked at the theme, I confused it for a wordpress admin panel. Red and blue colors blend very well. Everything is made just to look like the admin panel and the theme is free under Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Deed, which means you will be able to edit and make changes to the theme legally as long as the creator’s link remains in the footer. Surely blog2life deserves that link for the wonderful work they have done. I know this post has nothing to do with wordpress, but felt like writing this post.

iPhone 3G was announced some days ago which boasts fast 3G wireless technology, support for enterprise features like Microsoft Exchange, and the new App Store called Mobile Me. And there is no doubt that iPhone 3G puts even more features at your fingertips than the old version of the iPhone. Overall, iPhone 3G is a revolutionary phone having a widescreen iPod and is also having a desktop class web browser which is pretty exiting to me. With iPhone 3G you have got something called “real GPS”. The previous version of iPhone had just a “fake GPS”. Many service providers are seen to be joining hands with apple to distribute the product in their operating area.

Since I am from India, there was a roumour over here where lotta people were found telling that it’s the iPhone that’s gonna be launched, not the iPhone 3G. I got a email from Airtel now, saying iPhone 3G is going to be launched in India and you can book yours right now. Wow!. And, there was a small note down the page as well saying ” Some features and services are not available in all areas.” That’s absolutely the 3G things. India has got no place or no much place for that matter as far I know. You can see the iPhone 3G page of airtel here. No word on the rate yet.

Let me know if anyone gets a call from airtel saying “You had booked a iPhone 3G and you can collect it from our office right now.”.

I have been running a contest for EWPN Premium theme which is worth $19.99 for about 9 days through this blog, and currently there are only seven (7) participators. Well, as I said in the contest post, I will be releasing the results when there are at least 10 participators. Since it has been already 9 days since the contest was declared, I will not be waiting for more participators. Therefore, I will be declaring the results on July 1st. Did you ever wished to have a additional layer of security whilst logging in to your WordPress blog? How about using your mobile phone to login? Yup, and I have found something that will do it. It’s PhoneFactor. Some might have heard this name. What this does is when you log in to your WordPress blog while the PhoneFactor is enabled, you will receive a call on your phone. All you have to do is pick up the phone and press hash (#) and voila, you are logged on. Incase you are not able to pick up the phone, the login attempt fails.
It means that if anyone wants to break into your admin panel, they will need the user name, password and your phone! Basically, PhoneFactor was not made for Wordpress in specific. Crowd Favorite worked with the huge team of PhoneFactor team to build this integration on their API layer and created a wordpress plugin which will do all the magic.You can sign up for PhoneFactor right from your admin panel. This means you will not have to leave your admin panel just for the sake of getting a user name and password. The plugin also have features such as “white listing” IP’s such you don’t have to pass through PhoneFactor authentication if you’re logging in from your home computer.
